Huberdina Henrietta “Tina” Free-Padilla, 80, passed away Jan. 14, 2020. Survived by daughters, Theresia Mae “Tess” Padilla and Desiree Josette (Scott Williams) Padilla; grandson, Alexander Joseph Williams; siblings, Helena “Lenie” Free, Johanna “Hanny” Free, Godefridus “Frits” Free, and Hendrica “Resie” Free-Mateijsen, all of the Netherlands; siblings-in-law, Joop v.d. Pol of the Netherlands, Joe C. (Georgianna) Padilla, Faye Lopez, Ida Lucero and Roger Padilla; and cousins, Family Free of s’Hertogenbosch and Family Nijssen of Horn in the Netherlands. Preceded in death by husband, Jose Filiberto Padilla; parents, Henricus Cornelis Maria Free and Petronella Josephina Hubertina Nijssen-Free; and siblings, Cornelis “Cor” Free, Maria “Miep” Free-v.d. Pol and Petrus “Peter” Free. Tina was born on Sept. 3, 1939, in Tilburg, the Netherlands. She worked in the head office of the Philips Corporation (Royal Philips) in the Netherland prior to immigration to the U.S. Fiercely protective of her siblings growing up, she was completely dedicated to family, her life centered around her husband and daughters, but her greatest joy in life came with the birth of her only grandchild, Alexander, to whom she was devoted until her death. Vigil service, 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Memorial Mass, 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 24, 2020, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 414 W. 11th Street.
