Dorthy-Jane M. Sceats, 92, passed Friday, July 25, 2008. Survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Donald J. Sceats, Sr.; son, D. James (Kristin Olsen) Sceats, Jr. of Colorado Springs; daughter, Maresha (Jeffrey Louis) Sceats Leeds of El Granada, Calif.; grandchildren, Lindsay, Hunter, and Benjamin Sceats. Dorthy was born in Kalispell, Mont., on December 19, 1915, to Frank and Ida Mae Marsh. She was a micro anatomist, and a member of Adah Chapter #17 and Order of the Eastern Star in Kalispell. At her request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. An Eastern Star service will be held in Kalispell and a wake in Pueblo, which will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to Eastern Star Chapter #17 in Kalispell, Mont. or American Association of University Women, through the funeral home office. Online condolences, www.montgomerysteward.com

Please except my sympathy. I have such fond memories Mrs. Sceats. She was always so kind in the clinic. Always so busy, but, yet, always had time to chat.

Dear El Docco, Pixie, Jim and Family – I am deeply saddened by the loss of this dear and special woman. As I am traveling now, my heart aches along with yours and I send you all my love and condolences from across the sea. Marsha was a tour de force for me and my dreams of becoming a chef and pursuing the fine points of etiquette and hospitality in and out of the home. She was a beloved teacher and mentor for me and I am truly blessed to have known her, worked with her and to have become so close to her emotionally and spiritually over the past 30+ years. She was always smiling and the epitome of graciousness in everything she did. I have such beautiful memories of the many dinner parties, fourth of July “picnics”, brunches at the club, and especially, our times preparing and decorating the house for the holidays..her stories of days gone by were enthralling and her child-like sparkle lit up the house all on her own. My name is Brad Ward, I remember Mrs. Sceats from my years of receivng allergy shots when I was a child back in the mid 70s. She always had a smile on her face and a cheerful outlook, this helped with the experience of receiving a weekly shot for several years. I would like to express my sincere condolence to the family and pray that the Lord would comfort you in this time of sorrow. Our deepest condolences to Dr. Sceats, Jim, Maresha and their families. Mrs. Sceats was a devoted wife, loving mother and admiring grandmother. She was my cub scout den mother and I remember her patience and willingness to share her knowledge. No doubt, she will be greatly missed.
I would like to extend my condolences to Dr. Sceats. I didn’t know Dorothy Sceats, but I have the utmost respect for her and Doctor. It is my sincere hope that Doctor will accept my thanks, 35 years later for medically making possible the baby that everyone else said I wouldn’t have. After 9 miscarraiges, a visit to Doctor resulted in an operation that made it possible for me to have the gift of a baby boy. Now, 2 wks ago, he & his wife announced their 1st baby God Bless Dr. & Mrs. Sceats. My heart will always hold a special place for you both.
