Dorothy Lee Miller, born August 4th, 1959, left this Earth on March 24th, 2025. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Norman Jaycox Sr. and Dorothy L. Jaycox. From a young age, Dorothy showed that she had a talent for anything you can think of having to do with art. She first started with drawings and sketches and grew to love painting as well. Her mother and motherly figures taught her how to knit, crochet, sew, and embroider. These are talents she used throughout her whole life to bless those she loved with handmade items that they could cherish forever. Her love for warm days and good times often lead her to her favorite place, the beach. Corpus Christi, Texas was a happy place for her filled with laughs, memories, and especially dolphins. Dorothy met and married the love of her life, Bert Miller. They were married on June 14th, 1986. In their time together, they were blessed with 5 children, 2 sons and 3 daughters. She took joy in being a stay-at-home mother and wife to the family. Often known for her amazing cooking, she wasn’t afraid to ensure anyone that came through her door was well fed. Her cooking was exquisite to all of those who had the honor of dining in her home. She got to spend 19 years of her life with the other love of her life, her beloved cat Calypso. She brought her joy and companionship, and they are a duo you will always associate with one another. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Dorothy. She is survived by her husband, Bert D. Miller, her sisters Penny Daugherty and Patricia Wheatly, her brother Norman Jaycox Jr., her children Jennifer (Jarrod) Neff, Bert E. (Meghan) Miller, David Miller, Allison (Brenden) Palmer, Kristen (Dustin) Miller, as well as 3 grown grandchildren, Haley, Kylee, Bryson, and 8 younger grandchildren with 2 more on the way. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 11am at the Boettcher Natural Area at the Riverwalk in Pueblo. The family asks that those that attend wear purple to honor her with her favorite color.
It was a pleasure to know you since our glorious high school years . Sorry, to hear of your passing . My prayers are with your family .
To All the Miller Family:
I (we) have known you all for over 30+ years. Mom was a very good friend to me and my family in times of need. She would drop what she was doing and there she’d be with all you kids in tow with a dinner for us all …. Why because Bob just out of hospital. She tried and tried to teach how to Crow Hook an Afghan.. alas it never got finished. I (we) as a foursome had great times together! Forever in my memory bank! My sincere condolences and Love ❤️ to you all. As you navigate through your Grief Journey!
Love ❤️ Ruth Eggert
