Charles "Charlie or Chuck" Albrecht

charles albrecht

April 7, 1939 ~ August 30, 2022

Born in: Pueblo, Colorado
Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Charles (Charlie or Chuck) Albrecht, age 83, accepted his invitation to heaven on August 30, 2022.  He was a faithful and loving husband to JoAnn (59 years), an exceptional father to Todd (Kelly), to Shelly, and a proud grandfather to Alex (Lizzie) and Sadie (Maria). He treasured his cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as those in his extended “chosen” family.

Chuck grew up in Pueblo and graduated from Centennial High School.  His participation in ROTC led him to serve in the Marine Reserves and then the U.S. Army.  He began his career as a firefighter on the rescue squad and was quickly promoted to engineer and then finally to captain.  His fellow firefighters were his brothers, and he treasured all their support and the life-long friendships.  On the side, Chuck also enjoyed many years adjusting for his good friends at the Dooley’s Insurance Agency.

Outside of his career, Chuck proved to be a man of many talents, skills and passions.   He was a skilled carpenter and mechanic, an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, an exceptional bowler and a lover (and strategic player) of all games—especially card games.  He loved his Country Music, his Westerns, and he never missed a Bronco or Rockies game!

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents George and Elnora, his brothers Tom and Ken, his sister, Barbara (Hostetter), and his grandson, Andrew.

A funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 310 W. 11th, Pueblo at 10:00 am on Friday, September 9th, where he will be honored as long standing (65 year) member of the Elks, followed by a graveside service where he will also be given Military Honors and a Fireman’s Final Call.   A luncheon will follow back at FUMC.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to First United Methodist Church-Music Memorial in Chuck Albrecht’s name or to the Joni Fair Hospice House.
