  1. Rick and the Chappell family. I’m so sorry I missed Channy’s service. I didn’t know she passed until a few days ago. I searched the Chieftain but didn’t see it. Rietta happened to see it on Montgomerysteward.com. We loved Channy. I’ve never met a more interesting woman. My family and yours met when we all moved to Purdue St. in the 1950s. We had a fantastic neighborhood. All the neighbors got along and we all grew up in such strong families. My mom’s brothers and sisters went to school with Channy and my Uncle Dave fell in love with Mona and used to serenade her by singing “Mona Lisa” to her. I loved hearing about Channy’s and her sister’s time as trapeze artists. She was hilarious telling that story. And she was so proud to show us her pictures of her on the trapeze. She was the last original neighbor on Purdue St. She was proud of that also. We were lucky to have known her and her children. She will be missed! Deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Blessings, Marcia Spinuzzi, number 47 on the street.

Always talking crap to each other. Her potato salad was her signature dish at family get togethers. Ms.Channy accepted everyone and if you gained her trust as a person you were here friend! She is gonna be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure in meeting her.
