Barbara Gatlin, 91, of Colorado City, Colorado, passed away after a short illness on February 19, 2025. She was born to Raymond and Florence Burris on July 25, 1933, in McPherson, Kansas. She married Paul Gatlin on July 19, 1952, and were married for 66 years.
She is survived by four children, Linnette Talbott of Wichita, Kansas, Mike (Becky) Gatlin of Pueblo West, Colorado, Marcy (Glenn) Duncan of Edinburg, Texas, and Drew (Mary) Gatlin of Walsenburg, Colorado; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was active with Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls in Liberal, Kansas, where she was a Mother Advisor, Liberal Assembly #11 International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Living in Liberal, Kansas for a long period of time, she worked in several ladies dress and fashion shops.
Barbara kept active in her “golden years.” She was an avid collector of antiques and collectibles, and has kept active buying and selling collectibles while running an antique shop. She also kept active in her church by singing in the choir and helping with Children’s Bible School.
Viewing, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Valley Community Church, 4253 Mercantile St. in Colorado City. Burial will be held following the service in the La Veta Community Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be sent to Compassus Hospice Home Care, 200 W. City Center Dr., Unit 303, Pueblo, CO 81003
