  1. holy shit man!!! I never knew!! we ran together for almost 5 yrs when we were kids. roommates, bestfriends, wow we did a lot dude….wrecked my moms truck lol fun times…..wish I knew what happened to ya…..

  2. It’s been a few yrs, old friend since you left! You are missed deeply! I know we never really hung out in our adult life! But the world, my world was better knowing you were on the planet making people laugh. We spent our childhood together I think we were together all the time. O the crazy things we did. Cliff jumpin, wind sailing on skates, jumping off my roof, mineral palace, walkin to the loaf on 50. So many crazy things I could go on for days. The best childhood friend ever, you were!

  3. I can not believe you have been gone almost a year!! I miss you so much, I am so sorry I was not there for you in your time of pain… I love you Andy!!! I will be getting your tattoo done soon. You will be loved and missed forever!!!

  4. Andy,

I am so sorry to hear that you are no longer with us. You really were a joy to know, always with a smile on your face whenever I saw you. You were a talented and amazing artist!

    You are missed.

  5. I knew Andy and he will be missed and it brings sadness to my heart that a man loved so much is gone….I will NEVER forget him or my classmate Alex.

  6. Sad Day….just found out about Andy. My sympathies to the Gettler family and all of those that knew him. Two toasts to he who passes. One to honor his life. One to welcome him to the halls of Valhalla.

  7. Drew was a great friend of mine. I will always think the world of him and will miss him forever…
I want to share a poem Drew himself wrote back in July of 07..RIP my friend…

    Final Goodbye

    by *littlegett

I looked inside my minds eye

To find a creature deep inside

Fierce and brutal with claws and fangs

It screams, snarls, howls and bangs

    It’s only your imagination

He told me at the train station

    But I’ve seen it before

And I’ll see it some more

For this Creature deep inside my own minds eye

For as long as I live it will never die

    So say your farewells

    Your see-you-later-Mels

For this creature is strong and fierce

Thus it’s black heart I must pierce

No one to remember this name of mine

Not even the one with my last dime

My ashes will blow and scatter

Without one soul to know what matters

    Get your priorities straight

For all of you I hate

For this I will leave like a swallow

As it flies with no sorrow

  8. Linda & Family,
We are very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayer’s are with you. May God Bless and keep you in his care.

    Don, Peggy, Alease & Donnie

  9. I met Andrew at CTU as a fellow Doctorate student. I will remember him as one of the brightest individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. He shared with me his love for his three kids and how busy he was and wish he could spend more time with them. He is resting now and will be able to spend every minute of the day and night with them. He is at peace and God is taking care of him now. Rest in Peace Andrew!

  10. Your ready smile lit our halls and we shall remember how well you graced them. Until we meet again…

  12. My deepest condolences go out to your family. I used to live up the street on Skyview many years ago. Andy was always such a pleasant peaceful person.

  13. To Andrew’s Family,

    The Lord bless you and keep you;
    The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

    Numbers 6:24-26

  14. “For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?

And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.

And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.

And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.”

—- from the poem “Death” by Kahlil Gibran

My heartfelt condolences to Andrew’s family and friends.
