Aldo A Battiste, 100, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at his home in Pueblo with his children by his side. Aldo was born in Pueblo, CO, September 3, 1923, to Charles and Mary Battiste. He is survived by his children, Ace (Julie) Battiste, Gina Battiste, Bart (PingPing) Battiste; stepchildren, Bill (Nikki) Carder, Marlinda Thompson, Polly (Keith) Randle; grandchildren, Luke Battiste, Federico Prian, Bart Battiste Jr., Gianna Battiste; Lisa (Kole) Schwarte, Lindsay (Matt) Leddy, Grant Wollert, Logan Randle, Jaren Randle.
Aldo is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dee Ann Battiste; son, Rafe Battiste; siblings, Carolyn Davis, and Richard Battiste; and several nieces and nephews.
Aldo was proud of his humble beginnings and his grandparents who immigrated from Italy in the late 1800s and worked as farmers and miners. He was the oldest of three siblings and attended Centennial Highschool class of ‘41. He went on to study dentistry at Creighton University, class of ‘46. Aldo served in the Dental Corps for the US Army from 1946-1948, in Mississippi, then attended the University of Tennessee school of Orthodontics and graduated in 1950. He opened his first office in 1950 and continued to practice orthodontics into the 80’s when he retired to Vail to ski, bike and golf with his beloved wife, Dee Ann. Aldo was an active member of numerous professional dental organizations as well as various service organizations in his community. He was a well-respected orthodontist in Pueblo and Southeastern Colorado and was often approached and thanked for giving folks their beautiful smiles.
He was an avid hunter, skier and golfer and truly paid attention to his health – Aldo was always in great shape! He loved the outdoors and was even a popular ski instructor in Vail after his retirement. He was proud of his children and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren on the slopes and made sure to instill in them a love of golf….and cars.
Services will be held, 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel together with his late wife Dee Ann. Reception to follow at Pueblo Country Club. So sorry for your loss. Have many fond memories of Alldo. Worked for him for many years. He was always good to me and my family. Him and DeeAnn where always together, as they are now.

So sorry for your loss
Dr. Battiste was a wonderful man. I worked for him for eight years and he was so very good to me. I have so many fond memories of my years at his office. We all would drive to a satellite office in La Junta so we had lots of time to talk and share stories. He went above and beyond as a boss. I was young and he did many kind things for me and taught me a lot of good life lessons. He and Dee Ann had a wonderful dinner party for my husband and my engagement. They were wonderful host and hostess. I could go on and on. I do want to say he loved all of you his family so much and I know you know that. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to know him.
To have lived to 100 years of age is an accomplishment. May you rest in peace!
My sympathies to Aldo’s children and grandchildren.
Thank you Aunt Karen!
I have known Aldo for many, many years. He was always the best. Last time I talked with him was before I left Pueblo and he and I walked back from his mailbox and up the driveway. Rest in Peace, my friend. You had a good life and a great family!
What kind comments Pattee! Thank you Gina
