Ernest Ebersole was born in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania to the late Levi and Anna Ebersole. In 1949 he married Naomi N. Thomas and they started a family. In the early years of their marriage, Ernest and Naomi had a small farm and Ernest pastored at Lynden Mennonite Church. After that Ernest served in lay ministry in Wisconsin and Virginia before returning to Pennsylvania where he took on various jobs to support their growing family. Throughout his life he was actively involved in ministry to the needy in his community. He loved God, and nearly everyone who met him loved him.
In addition to their years in Lancaster County, Ernest and Naomi lived in Madison, WI; Roanoke, VA; Fredericksburg, TX; and finally in Pueblo, CO where he will be buried next to Naomi at Mountain View Cemetery. For the past three years, Ernest was lovingly cared for by the staff at the Sharmar Village Senior Care Community and the staff of Abode Hospice. A graveside service for immediate family will be held at Mountain View Cemetery and a memorial service will be held in Lancaster County, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Dad would be honored if you would share the Good News of God’s love with someone in need. Funeral services provided by Montgomery & Steward.
