Jerry Ruskin, 81, born as Jerry Rusinski on September 20, 1942. Passed away July 10, 2024. Born in Flint, Michigan to Andrew and Elizabeth Rusinski (Ruskin). Jerry leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Sophie Ruskin; their two daughters, Brandi Ruskin Moore (Dave), Stacy Ruskin; and two grandchildren, Carly Moore Frenkel (Leo), Brady Moore (Tess); and great-grandson, Asher Frenkel; beloved Barker family; brother-in-law, Peter Barker; nephews, Bret Barker (Ashley, Scout, Riley) and Adam Barker (Elke, Anthony, Claudia); and most dearest friend, Ralph Marco (Sharon). Jerry, who dedicated six decades of his life to serving the community of Pueblo through his exceptional upholstery work. His skillful hands and unwavering commitment have left an enduring mark on countless lives over the course of 60 years. Jerry discovered his passion for upholstery at an early age, setting him on a path of craftsmanship that would define his life’s work. His talent was evident in every fabric choice, and every piece he transformed. Pueblo became a canvas for his creativity, as he carefully restored and enhanced furniture that graced the homes and businesses of many. For six decades, Jerry poured his heart into his upholstery work, forming connections with clients and colleagues alike. His dedication to quality and his meticulous attention to detail, earned him not only loyal customers, but also lifelong friendships. He took pride in his ability to turn worn-out pieces into treasured possessions, and his impact on Pueblo’s aesthetic landscape was immeasurable.
Beyond the workshop, Jerry was a familiar face in Eagles #145 for years, helping children shop for Christmas – a gentle presence that radiated warmth and professionalism. His interactions extended beyond business transactions, as he engaged with people, sharing stories, advice, and a genuine interest in their lives. He was not only a skilled craftsman, but also a source of inspiration for those who aspired to make their mark through hard work and passion.
As we remember Jerry’s life and work, let us celebrate the legacy of dedication and
artistry he leaves behind. In his honor, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Centennial Alumni Foundation Ruskin Family Scholarship (Which benefits students’ continuing education) 2525 Mountview Drive, Pueblo, CO  81008.
While Jerry may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on in the beautifully upholstered pieces that grace homes, in the memories of those he touched, and in the fabric of Pueblo’s history. He will forever be remembered as a master of his craft and a beloved member of the community he served for 60 remarkable years.
Rest in peace, dear Jerry. Your upholstery work and the lives you touched will remain a testament to your enduring legacy.

  3. CandleImageI’m sorry for your loss. May memory of your husband and dad forever be a blessing on your heart and being a smile to your face.

  4. CandleImageI couldn’t believe that Jerry passed away. He and I worked together from the time I was 13 until I went to the Navy in 1968. We remained great friends forever and I even had the privilege to sell him vans and a automobile for Sophie while I worked for Wilcoxson Buick Cadillac GMC. I still went to visit him at his shop for years just to see how he was doing. It was a shock when Ann Lott told me that he passed away…another great friend gone too soon.
